Hockey World Cup: India to meet Canada tonight

Bhubaneswar: India will take on Canada in their final Pool C match of the men’s hockey World Cup at the iconic Kalinga stadium here in Odisha on Saturday. The match will start at 7 PM.

The home team will  now look for a convincing win against Canada and maintain the top spot to earn a direct qualification to the quarter-finals of the tournament. Indian team has been unbeaten so far in their group.

In another encounter of the day, Belgium will lock horn with South Africa at 5 PM.

Yesterday, Australia thrashed China  11-0 in the last Pool B match and entered  the quarter-finals.

In other last Pool B match, England beat Ireland 4-2. With this win, England with 4 points from 2 wins in 3 matches, is placed second in the table.
