Hockey World Cup:  Australia beat England 3-0, Ireland hold China to a Draw

Bhubaneswar: Two-time defending champions Australia outclassed England in Pool-B clash of the ongoing Men’s Hockey World Cup at the Kalinga Stadium here on Tuesday evening.

Australia beat England 3-0 to register their second consecutive win. Jake Whetton, Blake Govers and Corey Weyer scored one goal each for the Kangaroos.

With this win, Australia topped their group chart with two wins from as many games and six points in their kitty, while England are at the second spot after suffering a loss and playing a draw.

Australia will play China in their last pool match on Friday while England will be up against neighbours Ireland.

In the second match, Ireland and China played out a 1-1 draw.
