Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship 2023 starts in Odisha

13th Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship 2023 starts in Birsa Munda Hockey stadium in Rourkela of Odisha today.

Rourkela: The 13th Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship 2023 is scheduled to start on May 18 in Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium here in Odisha today.

All the matches in the tournament shall take place at the newly built world-class Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela. The 11-day tournament will feature as many as 28 teams. The final match is scheduled to take place on 28th May 2023.

The participating teams are divided into eight pools, said the official website of Hockey India. The teams have been divided as follow:

  • Pool A are – Uttar Pradesh Hockey, Hockey Karnataka and Kerala Hockey.
  • Pool B consists of three teams – Hockey Jharkhand, Hockey Bengal and Hockey Himachal.
  • Pool C has – Hockey Association of Odisha, Hockey Uttarakhand and Hockey Maharashtra.
  • Pool D consists of – Hockey Haryana, Goans Hockey and Chhattisgarh Hockey.
  • Pool E – Hockey Punjab, Delhi Hockey, Assam Hockey and Tripura Hockey.
  • Pool F – Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey, Hockey Andhra Pradesh, Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu and Le Puducherry Hockey.
  • Pool G – Hockey Bihar, Hockey Madhya Pradesh, Hockey Mizoram and Telangana Hockey.
  • Pool H – Hockey Chandigarh, Hockey Arunachal, Hockey Gujarat and Hockey Rajasthan.

It is worth mentioning that, after seven days of intense pool games, the Quarter-Finals will begin on May 25, 2023. The Semi-Finals are scheduled to be played on May 27, 2023. The Final and the 3rd/4th place matches will take place on May 28, 2023.

Furthermore, all the matches of the 13th Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship 2023 will be telecast live on FanCode.
