Hardik Pandya returns to India’s playing XI

Mount Maunganui: All-rounder Hardik Pandya returned to India’s playing XI, replacing Vijay Shankar in the third One-Day International (ODI) of the on-going five-match series against New Zealand at Bay Oval here on Monday.

Pandya and KL Rahul had been suspended for their his controversial comments on TV show ‘Koffee with Karan’. Pandya had missed the Australia ODI series and the first two ODIs against New Zealand before the suspension was lifted last week.

Veteran wicketkeeper and batsman MS Dhoni was missed out due to his hamstring injury. Dinesh Karthik came back as the wicketkeeper after almost 6 year.

Meanwhile New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and selected to bat with Mitchell Santner coming for Colin de Grandhomme in the only change for the hosts.

India are leading the five match series 2-0 after winning the first and second ODIs against the kiwis.
