India had managed to restrict England to 119/6 from their 20 overs. Off-spinners Anuja Patil and Harleen Deol took two wickets each as Ekta Bisht and Poonam Yadav scalped one wicket each.

The English batsmen, on the other hand, managed to get starts but failed to capitalise on them. Wicket-keeper Tammy Beaumont (29) and her opening partner Danielle Wyatt (24) gave England the perfect start with a fifty-run stand for the first wicket. Natalie Sciverwas sent back for a duck with skipper Heather Knight too managing to score only 11 runs.
