Dutee Chand gets ticket for Doha World Championships

Bhubaneswar: Ace sprinter Dutee Chand has been named in the 25-member national team for the Doha World Championships, scheduled to begin on September 27.

23-year-old Odisha girl was picked for 100m sprint event by the AFI selection committee meeting, chaired by Olympian Gurbachan Singh Randhawa, yesterday.

The fastest woman of the country will be able to participate at the Doha World Championships subject to invitation from the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) based on her world ranking.

Dutee won gold medals in recently held Inter-state Nationals in Lucknow and the subsequent Indian Grand Prix-6 in New Delhi.
