CT 2017: India set a victory target of 324 for Pakistan

Birmingham: A brilliant batting display by Team India put Pakistan on back foot in ICC Champions Trophy tie today. Kohli & Co posted 319/3 in 48 overs to set a victory target of 324 (D/L) for Pakistan.

The match was interrupted twice due to rains and finally got reduced to 48 overs a side. Rohit Sharma (91), Shikhar Dhawan (68), Virat Kohli (81*), Yuvraj Singh (53 off 32 balls) and Hardik Pandya (20* off 6 balls) helped India reach 319/3 in 48 overs.

The Pakistani bowlers had no clue to Indian aggression. Even, their fielding was below par. They dropped several catches, including two from Yuvraj singh. At least two Pakistani bowlers got injured during the match. It would be a herculean task for Pakistan to reach 324, as they would be under tremendous pressure.

As the rain continues to play spoilsport, it won’t be a surprise if the result of the match is determined by D/L method.
