CSK to face RCB in IPL 2019 opener today

Chennai: Defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will face Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday for the opening 2019 Indian Premier League (IPL) match. It will be played in CSK’s home ground at Chidambaram Stadium here.

The 12th season of vibrant, super-energetic homegrown T20 series starts today. It is important to note here that the opening ceremony of 2019 IPL was cancelled in wake of Pulwama attack and it was decided that the money scheduled to be spent would be donated to the martyr’s families.

Coming back to the teams, while MS Dhoni led CSK has lifted the coveted trophy times three times- – one after a comeback from the two-year suspension – Virat Kohli led RCB has not yet won it.

The match is scheduled to start at 8 pm and will be telecast on the Star Sports Network. The live streaming of the opening 2019 IPL RCB vs CSK match will be available on Hotstar.
