Bhubaneswar will host first Zone of “Weekend Volleyball Tournament” in May

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Volleyball Association in association with the Department of Sports & Youth Services, the Government of Odisha will organize the Weekend Volleyball Tournaments.

The Weekend Volleyball Tournaments will be held in six different cities of the State i.e. Bhubaneswar, Berhampur, Balasore, Jagatsinghpur, Sambalpur and Phulbani from the month of May 2022.

The “Bhubaneswar” Zone Weekend Volleyball Tournament will be held at Biju Patnaik Indoor Stadium, KIIT University on the 7th & 8th of May 2022, (Bhubaneswar, Puri, Khurda & Nayagarh) Clubs/Academies/Schools/Colleges are coming under this zone. Followed by “Jagatsinghpur” zone on 14th & 15th May 2022, (Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack & Jajpur) Clubs/Academies/Schools/Colleges are coming under this zone.

There are U-14 (Boys/Girls) & U-18 (Boys/Girls) categories separately for this Tournament. The Tournament will go for a month-long program only on Saturday & Sunday.

The aim of this tournament is to search the grass root level young players and need to be taken care of through grass root coaching camps & competitions.

Top ranked teams for the calendar year will be incentivized and awarded. Coaches to be incentivized yearly on the basis of their team’s performance. Reward system for teams (similar system to the coaches to be followed). All Clubs/Academies/Schools/Colleges participating in Weekend competitions to host Summer Camp.
