Bhubaneswar: All Odisha chess championship tournament will be held from 16th to 18th July under the banner of Odisha Chess Association. The tournament will be organized in the premises of KT Global School, on behalf of IIG sports academy in Bhubaneswar.
Hundreds of participants will take part in this competition along with international participants as well.
The entry fees for the competition is Rs 500, whereas the entry fees for the school children is Rs 200 and college students is Rs 300. The last date of the registration is 12th July.
The total prize money in the tournament is Rs 50 thousand.
The champion of the tournament will be awarded Rs 7 thousand along with a trophy while the runners-up will be awarded Rs 5,500 along with a trophy.
Likewise, the third position holder will be awarded with Rs 4 thousand and the fourth place holder will be given Rs 3 thousand while the fifth position holder will get Rs 2,500.
Not only that, the prize money will also be given to 6th position holders to 15th position holder.
The championship will be played in five categories.
The objective of the tournament is to provide infrastructure from the grass root level to the chess players and to spread awareness for the sport.
Newly started IIG Sports Academy is providing players with world-class platform.
All the details about the chess championship were informed today, in a press conference by the members of the academy.
