Australia end India’s winning streak; win 4th ODI

Australia 4th ODIBengaluru: In the absence of India’s mainstream bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah, Australia dominated the game and registered a 21-run win to end India’s 9-match winning streak and win an overseas ODI after a while.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. They posted 334/5 in 50 overs although they looked like reaching around 380 at one stage.

David Warner hit 124 in his 100th ODI. Aaron Finch missed out on the hundred. The duo added 231 runs for the first wicket. He was out for 94. Handscomb scored 43. For India, Umesh Yadav took 4 wickets.

Indian openers Ajinkya Rahane (53) and Rohit Sharma (65) added 106 runs for the first wicket. Despite some best efforts from Hardik Pandya (41), Kedar Jadhav (67) and Manish Pandey (33), India finished at 313/8 in 50 overs and lost by 21 runs.

For Australia, Kane Richardson took 3 wickets, while Nathan Coulter-Nile took 2 wickets. David Warner was declared ‘Player of the Match’.
