Asian Games: India beat Pakistan 2-1 to clinch Bronze medal in Men’s Hockey

Jakarta: Defending champions India beat arch-rivals Pakistan 2-1 in a nail-biting match to clinch bronze medal in the men’s hockey competition at the 18th Asian Games here on Saturday.

For India, Akashdeep hit the first goal at the 3rd minute of the match, while second goal came by Harmanpreet at 50th minute.

Pakistan’s lone goal came from a counter-attack scored by Muhammad Atiq.

India is now at 8th position with 69 medals in its kitty. India has 15 gold, 24 Silver and 30 Bronze. China leads the medals tally followed by Japan.
