Asian Games 2018: Shooter Saurabh Chaudhary wins Gold, Abhishek Verma bags Bronze

Jakarta: Indian shooters on Tuesday bagged one gold and one bronze medal in the Men’s 10-metre Air Pistol event at the 18th Asian Games here in Indonesia.

16-year-old Saurabh Chaudhary won gold while Abhishek Verma claimed Bronze on the third day of the mega event.

Saurabh claimed the Asian Games Record as well with 240.7 points to finish above Japan’s Tomoyuki Matsuda at the JSC – Shooting Range.  Abhishek shot a total of 219.3 to finish third on the podium.

Shooters have won 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze of the 7 medals India has won so far.

India is currently seventh in the medals tally. China continues to be at the top, with Japan second and South Korea third.
