Jakarta: Ace Indian athlete Dutee Chand entered the women’s 200 metres final at the 18th Asian Games here on Tuesday.
Dutee, who run in lane number 8, qualified for the final after finishing first with a timing of 23.00 seconds in the semi-final.
The final of the event is slated to be held tomorrow (August 29).
The 22-year-old athlete from Odisha had won a silver medal in women’s 100m event with a timing of 11.32 second on Sunday. This was the first medal in 100m race by an Indian female athlete since PT Usha won in 1986.
Meanwhile, in a video she assured to win the gold medal in the 200m and made the country and state proud. Besides, she has sought blessing and prayers of her fans and well wishers.
