Asian Games 2018: CM Naveen announces Rs 1 Cr each for 4 Women’s Hockey players from Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced a cash reward of Rs 1 crore each to four hockey players from Odisha in the Indian Women’s Hockey team which clinched the silver medal at the 18th Asian Games in Indonesia.

Four players are Sunita Lakra, Namita Toppo, Lilima Minz and Deep Grace Ekka. All of them were in playing XI in the final match against Japan.

Besides, the Coach will also get an award equivalent to 20 per cent of the reward for Asian Games medal winners.

The Chief Minister also congratulated the Indian Women’s Hockey team on winning the silver medal at the ongoing Asian Games.

On Friday, Patnaik handed over a cheque of Rs 3 crore to sprinter Dutee Chand as prize money for her achievement in both 100m and 200m events at the 18th Asian Games. Chand won the silver medal in both events.
