Anshul Kamboj set to make big debut in 4th test! Gautam Gambhir’s claim sparks buzz
India's 4th Test vs England: Anshul Kamboj set to make debut? Coach Gautam Gambhir's claim sparks excitement among cricket fans.
India’s fourth Test against England will see the team welcome a new face in the form of Anshul Kamboj, who is expected to debut at Old Trafford. Kamboj, a 24-year-old right-arm medium pacer, has been included in the team as a cover for injured pacers Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep. Kamboj has reportedly impressed coach Gautam Gambhir and senior pacers Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah during training sessions.
Kamboj’s addition to the team is mostly because of his remarkable performance in domestic cricket, during which he has bagged 79 wickets in 24 first-class games. His capability of delivering long spells and having perfect seam movement make him a perfect fit for the English pitch. Ravichandran Ashwin has also praised Kamboj, stating that he resembles the qualities of Zaheer Khan and Jasprit Bumrah.
India skipper Shubman Gill has announced that Kamboj is nearly ready to make his international debut, with the last call going between Kamboj and Prasidh Krishna. “Anshul Kamboj is nearly set to make his debut. We will know tomorrow if it’s Anshul or Prasidh who will find a place in the Playing XI,” said Gill. Kamboj’s possible debut has created a buzz among fans, as he has showcased some impressive performances in domestic cricket.
With Akash Deep out with a groin injury and Arshdeep Singh injured, Kamboj’s inclusion appears to be on the cards. Indian team is currently 2-1 behind in the five-match series and would be seeking a comeback with a win at Old Trafford. India’s probable XI for the fourth Test consists of KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Karun Nair, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Anshul Kamboj, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj.
