20-year-old Naomi Osaka to face Serena Williams in US Open women’s final today

New York: 20-year-old Naomi Osaka of Japan will face her idol Serena Williams in the the US Open women’s final today. She beat American Madison Madison Keys 6-2, 6-4 yesterday to reach her first-ever Grand Slam final.

Osaka is the first female Japanese player to reach a Grand Slam singles final.

Williams, 23-time grand slam champion, defeated her Latvian opponent Anastasija Sevastova 6-3 6-0 to reach her ninth US Open final.

The veteran American is looking to match the record 24 Grand Slam titles won by Australian Margaret Court.
