The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released a notification for The Combined Defence Services Examination (UPSC CDS I exam 2024) on December 20 for vacant posts in various armed forces across India including Indian Air Force, Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Officers Training Academy. Candidates can register and apply for the UPSC CDS recruitment 2o24 before the deadline which is January 9, 2024 via the official website of UPSC-upsc.gov.in.

According to the official notification, there are 457 vacancies for posts in the above-mentioned forces.
- Officers’ Training Academy: 273
- Indian Military Academy, Dehradun: 100
- Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala: 32
- Air Force Academy, Hyderabad: 32
- Officers Training Academy, Chennai (Women): 18
UPSC CDS Recruitment 2024 Educational Qualification
To apply for the UPSC CDS exam, candidates should have a graduation degree. You can check the details of educational qualification for different wings given below.
For Indian Military Academy: The candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.
For Indian Naval Academy: The applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognised University/Institution.
For Air Force Academy: The applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) from a recognised University/Institution or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Graduates with first choice as Army/Navy/Air Force are to submit proof of Graduation/provisional certificates on the date of commencement of the SSB Interview at the SSB.
Age limit
The candidates applying for the UPSC CDS recruitment 2024 should have attained the age as follows:
The job aspirants applying for Officer Training Academy (OTA – Men), and Officer Training Academy (OTA – Women, Non-Technical) should be aged between 19-25 years.
The candidates applying for Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA) should be aged between 19 years to 24 years.
