PM Internship scheme: Apply for 1.25 Lakh vacancies in 500 top companies

The Indian government launched PM Internship Scheme (PMIS), a remarkable initiative to provide valuable internship opportunities for the youth of India. It will provide hands-on experience in their fields across the top 500 companies and equip them with the skills and insights.

The pilot phase targets 1.25 lakh youth, with a five-year goal to facilitate internships for one crore young individuals. The candidates can apply online here.

Eligibility Criteria

ITI: Matriculation + ITI in relevant trade

Diploma: Intermediate + AICTE-recognized diploma

Degree: Bachelor’s degree from UGC/AICTE-recognized university

No one in the family should be earning Rs 8 lakh per annum. They should not be government job holders.

Age:

The candidates should be between 21 to 24 years of age.

Total Vacancies:

1,25,000 positions in 500 top companies

Stipend: 

Rs 5,000 monthly stipend. A one time payment of Rs 6,000 will be provided to the beneficiaries.

There is no application fees for the PM Internship scheme.

Application Process

Step 2. Registration: Candidates need to create an account on the portal, providing their personal details, educational qualifications, and other necessary information.

Internship Matching and Selection

Step 1. Submission of Applications: Candidates can browse available internship positions and submit applications for those they are interested in directly through the portal.

Step 2. Shortlisting: The applications are reviewed and shortlisted by the participating companies. The criteria for selection are based on the company’s specific requirements and the candidate’s qualifications.

Step 3. Interviews and Selection: Shortlisted candidates may undergo online interviews or further assessment processes conducted by the companies. Final selections are made based on these evaluations.

Step 2: Register by providing your personal and educational information.

Step 3: The portal generates your resume based on shared details.

Step 4: Use the browsing tool to view internship opportunities tailored to your preferences (e.g., sector, location, role).

Step 5: Apply for up to 5 internships that align with your qualifications and interests.

Step 6: Candidates are shortlisted based on their applications and the requirements of partner companies.

Step 7: Companies review shortlisted profiles and extend offers to selected candidates.

Step 8: Once you receive an internship offer, you can accept it through the portal.
