Bhubaneswar: On occasions when we return home after the work of a tough day and don’t have patience to wait till the food is cooked, many of us bank on a free home delivery food supplying company. And in this context Zomato is a popular name. However, after watching a video, which has gone viral, you may like to go for some other option.
In the viral video we can see a Zomato’s delivery boy eating food from the boxed orders meant for delivery to users. The delivery boy wearing Zomato t-shirt is seen replacing each box after resealing them, back into the delivery bag and then goes off to deliver it to the customer. As per reports the company claims the video to be from Madurai, Tamil Nadu.
The video has caught the popular food ordering and restaurant discovery platform amid controversy of food tampering. However, Zomato has called it an ‘unusual and rare case’.
The two-minutes video has gone viral on the internet leaving the Gurgaon-based food delivery and restaurant reservation platform Zomato surrounded by controversy as the delivery boy who was eating the customer’s food was wearing Zomato’s t-shirt.
Amid allegations, Zomato announced that it will soon introduce tamper-proof tapes and educate its delivery fleet of over 1.5 lakh partners to highlight or escalate any such deviations to the company.
