Watch: Woman falls into an open manhole, bystanders rush to rescue her
People are so attached to their phones nowadays that it often leads to accidents while they are distracted by the addictive contents or conversations online. In the light of it, a woman in Bihar fell into an open manhole while she was engrossed in a phone conversation.
The entire incident was captured on a surveillance camera installed nearby. The clip is now going viral on all social media platforms.
In the video, the woman can be seen talking on the phone while she walks behind an autorickshaw. As the vehicle leaves, she steps forward without noticing an open manhole infront of her. Seconds later, she slips into the the hole, alarming those around her.
People present there rushed to the manhole to see what has happened after which a few men tried to come up with a plan to lift the woman out of the deep drain safely.
As per the reports, the woman was later rescued by the locals.
Shared on Twitter by Utkarsh Singh, the video has garnered more than 2300 views so far. The caption on the post reads, “#Woman talking over phone, accidentally slips into dug hole in Patna, was rescued by locals.”

Netizens were not only shocked by the incident but they filled the comment section with questions like “Why is that hole open??” Others blamed the municipality department for not being responsible enough and wrote,”What a irresponsibility of the department so sad our fate” while another comment read, “The Municipality is irresponsible for not placing cover on the manhole and the locals done a great job in saving the life of a so-called cell phone user(because she feels she cannot wait for a moment to stop conversation on the public road).”
