Watch: Viral video of priest dancing ‘Dhunuchi Naach’ on Manike Mage Hithe

Sri Lankan singer Yohani Diloka de Silva’s song ‘Manike Mage Hithe’ has become a sensation all around the globe. From popular celebrities to netizens, everyone is seen grooving to the song over the Internet. The immense popularity of the song can be measured by the number of Instagram reels, YouTube covers and different renditions of the song made by known musicians. In the light of it, a video of a priest dancing Dhunuchi Naach to the tunes of the Sinhala song has caught a lot of attention of the netizens.

In the video shared by Roaming Barun on YouTube, a priest can be seen dancing in front of a Goddess Durga idol. Although the Manike Mage Hithe song was later added in the background of the video, his steps seem to be in complete sync with the rhythm of the song.

The 30 seconds clip has garnered more than 33k views so far along with several comments praising the priest and his unique dance steps. It is very common during Durga Puja celebrations for people to dance in front of the Durga idols holding dhunuchi in their hands to show their devotion.

On other hand, ‘Yohani’s Manike Mage Hithe’ is all set to get its Hindi version for Sidharth Malhotra, Ajay Devgn movie ‘Thank God.’ Directed by Indra Kumar the film also features Rakul Preet in its lead. The rendition of the song for the movie will be directed by Tanishk Bagchi and lyrics will be penned by Rashmi Virag.
