A trip to Phuket’s Tiger Kingdom by an Indian tourist became a nightmare as he was bitten by a tiger when he went near it for a selfie. A clip of the attack, recorded at the wildlife park where one can play with tigers, has gone viral with more than two million views. In the clip, the man is seen walking beside the tiger before bending down for a photo shoot. A trainer tries to command the animal with a stick, but the tiger turns violent and leaps upon the man.

Luckily, the tourist remained unhurt in the attack except few minor injuries, as the individual who uploaded the video claimed. Nonetheless, the move has raised eyebrows over the safety measures in place at such wildlife destinations and the well-being of the creatures. Several users vented their fears through the comment section, with one user warning, “Always avoid such stunts. Animals are animals. Be good and kind to them, but don’t expect them to return the favour.”

The event underscores risks of close contact with untamed wildlife in captivity, where bizarre environments can unleash aggression. “Such adventures of abandon can soon turn fatal, making a thrilling experience a tragic fate,” another commenter cautioned. Careful travel requires prudence and regard for the uncontrollable power of nature, they said. The viral clip has once again sparked controversy surrounding the risks and ethics of having humans come close to wild animals in controlled settings.
