A bizarre incident of a lady professor marrying her student has gone viral. The incident reportedly from MAKAUT university in West Bengal shows a lady professor dressed as a bride and a 1st year student performing marriage rituals. In the video, the student was seen performing Bengali tradition of ‘sindoor daan’ and ‘mala bodol’ in the classroom.
After the video went viral it received widespread criticism. The varsity then intervened and set up a probe. Following the internet bashing, the varsity authorities formed a three-membered inquiry panel and sought clarification from the professor. The committee had three female members of other departments.
It was revealed by the lady professor that this was a drama and a part of study. She said that it was part of a psychological demonstration and was simply an act. The incident happened in the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) at Haringhata in Nadia district.
The Vice-Chancellor Tapas Chakraborty said,” The professor has explained that it was part of a demonstration on her subject. The videos were documented for academic purposes and was somehow leaked on social video.
Meanwhile, the lady Lady Professor marries studentprofessor was asked to take leave as the probe is underway and the student has also been barred from attending classes.
