Anand Mahindra shared a video of a fruit seller cleaning customers' litter at the Ankola bus stop, which went viral on social media.

Industrialist and Mahindra Group Chairman, Anand Mahindra, is quite active when it comes to Twitter. Mr. Anand keeps posting his opinions and observations on several issues on the microblogging site. This time, Mahindra shared a video of a fruit seller as a “real, quiet hero.”

In the video, a Karnataka fruit seller can be seen cleaning the trash left by her customers after unwrapping the fruits at the Ankola bus stop. The seller has received praise for her efforts since the video went viral on social media.

The video was originally shared by a Twitter user named Adarsh Hegde. In the post’s caption, he wrote, “This lady is fruit seller & she sells fruits wrapped in leaves at Ankola Bus stand, Karnataka. Anand Mahindra reshared it on his Twitter profile and wrote, ” “These are the real, quiet heroes making Bharat Swachh. I really would like her to know that her efforts have not gone unnoticed & are appreciated. How do you suggest we can do that? @adarshahgd can you find someone who lives in that area & can contact her?”

After a few hours, Hegde replied that the woman’s name was Mohini Krishna Gowda, and he had the contact number of her son. Now it will be interesting to see how Mahindra will express his gratitude to the old woman.

In 2019, Mahindra noticed an elderly woman named Kamalathal, from Coimbatore, also known as Idli Amma. She owned a tiny idli shop and sold idlis for Rs 1 each. She kept the prices low, in order to cater to daily-wage labourers who were unable to afford high prices. Her story touched Mahindra, he helped the woman get an LPG connection for her shop. Two years later, in May 2022, Mahindra’s company built a house for the 85-year-old woman, and gave her the keys to her new home on Mother’s Day.
