This Mangaluru woman feeds 800 stray dogs for the past 15 years

Some heroes don’t wear a cape! The saying goes right on this Mangaluru woman who has been feeding 800 stray dogs every day.

When we talk about loyal and cuddlier pets, the first animal that comes to mind is a dog. People can leave you at your lowest but a dog won’t, they don’t care about our looks or financial status. All they crave is some love and food. They say you feed a dog for three days and they will stay by your side for three years. Now we don’t know how true those sayings are but what we do know is about a woman named Rajni Shetty, a Mangaluru resident, who is feeding over 800 dogs every day.

She cooks more than 60 kgs of chicken and rice to feed them on a daily basis.

Rajni goes around the city to find these abandoned and stray furry friends and feeds them fresh meat. The story of her kindness is winning our hearts, and we believe it will melt yours too.

Rajni has been serving her love and kindness to these cuties for around 15 years now. She not only feeds them but also treats their injuries and ailments.

One day, while traveling by bus, Rajni saw a dog street dog begging for food. It ate a paper that had some food wrapped on it earlier. Seeing this broke her heart and she immediately got off the bus to feed the poor animal with an omelet from the nearby shop. It’s been 15 years since then, this living hero has never stopped her initiative.

Over the years, she has rescued over 2,000 animals, that includes dogs, cats, rabbits, and birds. Fortunately, Rajni has now garnered support from the public as well. People noticed her effort and sought to put forth a helping hand.

Her husband, who is a taxi driver, and her three kids also help her every day, in achieving this remarkable feat. In return, they receive the satisfaction of seeing these doggos well-fed and happy.

We need more people like Rajni on this globe to restore our faith in humanity.
