In a rare incident, the severed head of a venomous cobra bit and killed the chef who had cut off it to pieces to prepare snake soup. The unusual incident took place in Guangdong Province of China. The report was reported in Daily Mail.
The deceased chef has been identified as Peng Fan.
As per the report, the chef killed the snake by cutting off the head of the spitting cobra as he prepared to dice its body for a soup.
The chef then became busy for about 20 minutes and when was tossing the head in the trash, the head bit it. As the head of the cobra was still functioning it affected him and he died before he could be given an anti-venom drug.
Experts are of the view that reptiles including Cobras can usually function for up to an hour, even after being decapitated.
