‘Senorita’ gets a Haryanvi makeover as ‘Babita’, internet can’t get enough, watch
A musician uploaded Senorita song cover on his Instagram account with a funny caption 'What if Senorita was from Haryana?’
It’s possible that the incredibly popular song Senorita by Bollywood could actually have been based in Haryana rather than Spain? A musician has added a witty Haryana flavour, and the internet is loving the desi twist.
The musician uploaded the cover on his Instagram account by the name Bodh Music with a funny caption ‘What if Senorita was from Haryana?’
In the video the musician is sitting at a cafe with his guitar and crooning the song with a Haryanvi accent.
However, the one massive and important change the musician made is that Senorita turns out to be Babita.
The unique parody did not take long to catch the eyes of the viewers, few have even commented in the video that they actually ‘like’ this one more than the original.
Senorita was released in the 2011 Zoya Akhtar film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, and it was composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy whereas lyrics were penned by Javed Akhtar. Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol and Spanish singer Maria del Mar Fernandez featured in the song.
However, since the original is more Spanish the cover turns it completely desi.
With an all familiar melody, Haryanvi accent and the subtle change in the name ‘Senorita’ to ‘Babita’, the musician has managed to make Senorita’s Haryanvi parody super fun.
