Pakistan: A wave of leaked intimate videos involving high-profile celebrities has left the entertainment industry in turmoil. The latest victim of the private video leak scandal is however a Pakistani TikTok influencer and entrepreneur Kanwal Aftab. This marks the fourth time in recent months a high-profile influencer has fallen to such a leak.
According to sources, online leaked explicit videos and images of Aftab contain him in compromising situations. The 26-year-old social media influencer has not yet commented on the authenticity of leaked content. Despite having over 4 million Instagram followers, Kanwal Aftab fell victim to a leaked personal video.
Aftab often posts pictures of her husband, Zulqarnain Sikandar, and their two-year-old daughter, Aizal Zulqarnain. The leaked video has already received much public attention with speculations by fans and the media on whom it was leaked by and its consequences.
The latest case involves Pakistani TikTokers Minahil Malik and Imsha Rehman in leak cases reported for the second time this month. Last week, private videos of popular TV host and influencer Mathira Khan got leaked, allegedly with her in compromising and intimate situations.
Online backlash was severe, and Mathira responded by accusing people of spreading fake images, misusing her name. She aired frustration that people were misusing her name and photoshoot pictures, adding fake content, and urged people to “have shame” and keep her out of the “trashy nonsense.”
Such incidents have pointed out the increasing trend of MMS leaks aiming at stars and online social influencers, the debates questioning the matters of privacy, consent, and responsibility online.
