Pattamundai: In a very unusual incident, a man from Kendrapara district of Odisha has claimed that he has bought an acre of land in Moon. And to prove his authority over the piece of land on Moon, he has cited a certificate that has been issued by the International Lunar Land Registry of New York city. The buyer has said that he has bought the land which he wants to gift to his newly born daughter.
As per reports, one Avaya Kumar Senapati (as per the certificate) of Kupuni village under Pattamundai block in Kendrapara district, who is living in Bangalore for the last 15 years has claimed that he has bought 1 acre of land on Moon.
Senapati has shown the related documents of the purchase that has been legally certified on March 6, 2021 (as per the document). The other documents include a brochure by LUNA SOCIETY International and the map of the piece of land.
Avaya reportedly became father of a daughter recently. Following birth of his daughter, he planned to gift a unique presentation to his daughter and wanted to buy the said land in moon. One of his colleagues had helped him to buy the said land. Accordingly, Senapati contacted the Company, that provides lands for sale on moon and he registered 1 acre in his name. The price of the land is some more than Rs. 10,000, according to Senapati.
When it is still a huge job for even astronauts to land on moon, the news of a common man buying a piece of land on moon seems very strange. However, his neighbours back in Odisha are very much happy about this claimed achievement of Senapati. Talking to Kalinga TV, the neighbours and Senapati’s relatives have conveyed their happiness over the achievement.
Keeping in view the pace of scientific developments in space science, we can hope a day might come when humans can live in moon. Yet, as of now, and in this particular case, it is hard to believe that a piece of land was bought in Moon and that is also at a price of Rs.10, 000 for 1 acre.
