Narrow Escape from death: Emergency break saves life at Shivdi station, Watch video

A shocking video of a man escaping death from a train accident was shared by the Ministry of Railways has gone viral o Twitter. If not for the train driver’s presence of mind and quick action, the man could have ended up in pieces.

The video was shot at the Shivdi station in Mumbai.

The video is a CCTV footage of the nearby station, in which a man can be seen strolling on the railway tracks casually. As soon as the train approaches, the man suddenly lies down on the tracks. However, the train driver promptly stops the vehicle on the tracks by pulling the emergency brakes. Some RPF personnel can then be seen rushing towards the man to move him to safety. According to the time stamp on the CCTV footage, the incident seems to have taken place around 11:45 in the morning.

The department shared the clip with a Hindi caption that roughly translates to, “Commendable work done by the Motorman: The Motorman saw a man lying on the tracks of Shivdi station in Mumbai, with his  promptness and understanding, he applied the emergency brakes and saved the life of the person.”

The caption further read, “Your life is precious, someone is waiting for you at home.”

So far the clip has garnered more than 106k views and tons of reaction from the netizens. While some lauded praises for the train driver, others commented on how recklessly the man behaved.
