Travel influencers face different difficulties while travelling to remote and unknown places. Besides, the language barrier and cultural disparities, alienated behavior from the locals is one big issue that the travellers face. A Malayali youth, Aswin has shared his ordeal while travelling to North India, in recent Instagram post where he shows clips of a train boggie stacked with people. Even the floors can be seen occupied by people in the general coach.
However, something unusual can also be observed in the people seated on the floor. A man was found carrying a cobra in a bamboo basket. As he sits there, he can be seen opening the lid of the basket and taking it near the passengers, scaring them to extort money.
The same incident happened with him as well. He narrated,” I was just about to fall asleep when this happened. It truly scared me,” recounting the scary experience.
May be they had removed the venomous teeth of the cobra but nothing can be said with surety. The sight was petrifying for the unsuspecting passengers. “Intially, I thought he was a ‘pambatti’ (a snake charmer). Later, I enquired that they were the locals who deliberately do this to solicit money,” he said in the video.
Ashwin then went on to show his disgust over the careless attitude of the authorities. These locals terrifying the passengers, seem fearless about getting caught as they do so openly.
This footage has sparked outrage among the netizens who are condemning the incident and urging the railway authorities to take legal action.
