Massive Lightning Bolt Strikes Pickup Truck On Florida Highway, Terrifying Video Goes Viral
Thunder and lightning could be exciting to watch but they can take a dangerous turn sometimes.
Recently, a video of lightning striking a pickup truck running on a Highway in Florida went viral on social media for its terrifying content.
The shocking incident was caught on camera by a woman who was driving right behind the vehicle.
The lady in the car is identified as Michaelle May Whalen, and the person driving the pickup truck was her husband. Reportedly, her husband and three children were riding on the truck. The family was heading home after a vacation.
Michaelle told Fox13 News, “It started to storm and I thought the lightning was neat, so I was trying to snap a picture of the lightning and missed every time. So my son-in-law suggested I slow-motion video record, and that’s when I captured the event on camera.”
“Lighting struck my husband’s truck. While everyone was uninjured, the vehicle was “completely fried.” The incident took place near Sunshine Skyway Bridge on July 1.” she further added.
Hillsborough County Deputy Kristen Miceli was driving next to Whalen’s truck when the lightning bolt struck. Miceli’s car was also damaged. The video was originally shared on Facebook by the County Sheriff’s Deputy. As soon as the video surfaced online, it went viral in a very short time. The clip was then shared by various internet users on different social media platforms.
