A fisherman on Norway’s coast recorded an breathtaking moment with a giant basking shark. The 1 minute and 33-second clip captures the shark swimming just below the surface, making circles around the man’s tiny boat.
The shark’s huge dorsal fin pokes up out of the water, and its huge mouth creats a hallucinatory sight. Ironically, despite the dramatic presentation, marine biologists explain that basking sharks are non-aggressive to humans, dining solely on plankton.
The shark’s slow circling can be linked to feeding habits, as it swims along plankton filled waters with its mouth open. The video has become viral, showcasing the friendly nature of these amazing animals and captivating audiences with the shark’s enormity and soothing movements.
