Man gifts Taj Mahal-like home to wife; replica took 3 years to complete

Taj Mahal is considered to be the epitome of love, as empire Shah Jahan built it for his lovable wife Mumtaz. Just like the iconic monument and for what it represents, an MP man gifted a replica of Agra’s Taj Mahal to his wife as a token of his love for her.

Located in Burhanpur state of Madhya Pradesh, the plush home took three years to built. According to the reports, Anand Chouksey, the man behind the idea, was always amazed by the Taj Mahal and wondered why it wasn’t built in his city. This inspired him to built a replica of the wonderful monument.

The home has four-bedrooms, kitchen and bathrooms. Anand happen to have studied the real Taj Mahal very closely. The engineer who built it revealed that they had to face many challenges during the construction. He said that in the process of the construction, the owners of the house had to sought help from artists from Bengal and Indore for the carving done inside the house.

Reportedly, the dome of the house is at a height of 29 feet and it even has towers like in the real Taj Mahal. Moreover, the flooring of the house has been made from ‘Makrana’ of Rajasthan and the furniture has been sorted by the artisans of Mumbai.

The house comprises a big hall, two bedrooms downstairs, two bedrooms upstairs, a library and a meditation room. Anand Chouksey also got similar lighting for the house so that it shines in the dark just like the real monument.
