India’s largest Paratha takes Instagram by storm, Watch

A video showcasing the creation of India’s largest Paratha has captured the attention of food enthusiast and making netizens' mouth watery.

A video showcasing the creation of an enormous aloo paratha has captured the attention of food enthusiast. Shared by the Instagram food account “Indian Foodie Boy” on November 29, the undated footage hails the colossal dish as “the biggest paratha of India.”

The cooking process unfolds as the skilled chef expertly stuffs the dough with a medley of vegetables, skilfully rolling it into a flawless circle. Employing a rolling pin with precision, the paratha’s surface remains smooth without any imperfections. The chef then places the creation on a flaming pan, unfolding it carefully and ensuring thorough cooking by adeptly flipping it multiple times. To add a touch of innovation, a makeshift oil brush made from cloth and a stick is used to oil the paratha during the cooking process.

Upon completion, the mammoth paratha is plated on an oversized utensil and sliced into triangular strips using a pizza cutter. The grand presentation is complemented by a large bowl of curd and an assortment of chutneys and sauces.

While the video doesn’t specify the restaurant responsible for this culinary masterpiece, the sheer size suggests it’s intended for a group feast. Social media reactions have been enthusiastic, with comments ranging from expressions of awe to humorous remarks like, “Mummy bas ek roti khauga (Mom, I will eat just one roti).”

This isn’t the first time that an oversized paratha has garnered viral attention. In February 2022, food vlogger Gaurav Wasan highlighted Veena, an Amritsar-based cook who served massive parathas on her street cart for an affordable Rs 30. Wasan, in his post, shared the inspiring story of Veena ji, describing her as a superwoman who, after the loss of her husband, took charge of her life and her four daughters’ welfare.

In the post, Wasan wrote, “Today she makes one of the biggest and tastiest parathas in Punjab priced at just Rs 30, and she says, ‘Mata Rani ki Mehar se aur apni mehnat se me zarur is daur se bhi Guzar jaungi’ (With the grace of Mata Rani and my hard work, I will surely overcome this phase).”
