In a weird incident, an Indian-American blogger from San Francisco had hired a woman to slap him every time he opened his Facebook account.
Maneesh Sethi, a computer programmer from San Francisco and CEO of wearable device company Pavlok reportedly hired a woman named Klara from Craigslist as a slapper for USD 8 (Rs 595 approximately) per hour to help cut down on his Facebook usage. Sethi apparently found out that he was spending close to 30 hours a week on Facebook and other social media sites that ate over 38 percent of his workweek.
In 2012, Maneesh Sethi went on Craigslist to hire someone who would help him increase his productivity, all they had to do was slap him in the face. He had been spending too much time on Facebook.
“I’m looking for someone who can work next to me at a defined location (my house or a mission cafe) and will make sure to watch what is happening on my screen. When I am wasting time, you’ll have to yell at me or if need be, slap me,” he posted on Craigslist.
Later in a blog post, Sethi said that he was able to increase his productivity to 98% from 35-40% by hiring a woman for slapping him.

Sethi replied to Musk’s tweet, “Is @elonmusk giving me two emojis the highest I’ll ever reach? Is this my Icarus flying too close to the sun moment? Was that implied by the fire symbols Elon posted? Time will tell.”
