Groom comes to pick up bride in Helicopter, Doesn’t get permission to land in Bihar’s Jehanabad

A groom’s grand plan to pick up his bride by helicopter in Bihar’s Jehanabad district faced an unexpected hurdle.

Jehanabad: A groom’s grand plan to pick up his bride by helicopter in Bihar’s Jehanabad district faced an unexpected hurdle as the district administration denied permission for landing. The groom, identified as Navardev, had orchestrated a picturesque entry to his wedding, but fate had other plans.

The incident unfolded in Mohadipur village of Jehanabad, where Ramanand Das, a resident, had envisioned sending his daughter, Dr. Megha Rani, off to her marital journey with a helicopter ride. The groom, Dr. Vivek Kumar of Jamshedpur, arrived with high hopes to sweep his bride off her feet, literally. However, the administration’s refusal to grant landing permission led to an unusual resolution.

Undeterred, the couple, along with the wedding entourage, resorted to completing the Saptapadi (the seven vows) in a unique fashion. The helicopter, which had been booked for a staggering Rs 9 lakh, circled the village seven times, symbolically fulfilling the sacred vows from above. Following this unconventional ceremony, the bride and groom, Navardev and Navra, were compelled to travel to Jamshedpur via Gaya Airport.

Ramanand Das expressed his disappointment with the administration’s decision, stating, “My daughter became a doctor after studying at home. At that time, we had decided that we would send her in a helicopter out of the savings from the cost of studying abroad. But the administration did not allow it.”

The bride’s brother, Mrityunjay Kumar, had made arrangements for the helicopter, even preparing a helipad in the village’s farm for the planned landing. However, the district administration cited security reasons for the denial, prompting the aerial circumambulation of the village before the newlyweds embarked on their journey to Jamshedpur.
