A car owner was issued a challan for not wearing a helmet even though the violation clearly applies only to two-wheeler riders in Ghaziabad.
In a bizarre incident, a car owner was issued a challan for not wearing a helmet in Ghaziabad. The incident soon went viral on social media leaving many amused and confused as the violation clearly applies only to two-wheeler riders .
The challan was issued near Ajnara Society crossing in Rajnagar Extension. It reportedly mentioned a two-wheeler offence but carried the photograph of a car with a local registration number.
Officials later explained that a traffic sub-inspector had clicked a photograph of the car because it was parked in a no-parking zone. However, by mistake this photograph was attached to a challan that was prepared for a two-wheeler helmet offence.
The traffic department called the incident a ‘human error’ and said that an internal inquiry has been launched. Authorities have also assured that steps will be taken to prevent such mistakes in the future.
