Female constable falls in love with criminal; love story meets a tragic end

Bhagalpur, Bihar: In a bizarre turn of events, a woman constable from Bihar fell in love with a most wanted criminal. Ironically they had met in the police station. They ended up marrying each other. But their love story didn’t find a happy ending.

Priti Kumari is a constable at Bhagalpur Police station in Bihar. Last year she was posted at Sitamarthi woman police station. There she fell in love with a Mithu Sah. Sah was listed as one of the ‘most-wanted’ gangsters in that district.

As reported by Telegraph, they used to secretly meet outside the Sitamarhi police lines where Priti lived. The report further said that Priti was enchanted with Sah’s lifestyle.

They decided to get married at a temple.

Until this point, Priti and Sah’s story might remind us of some famous movies, where the gangster reforms and they live happily ever after.

But predictably their love story didn’t have a happy ending.

Soon, the superintendent of police (SP) at the same police station Sitamarhi, Hari Prasath, came to know about the affair. He ordered a probe.

During the course of the inquiry, it was found that the constable supplied confidential information related to the department to her gangster husband, reports Gulf News.

The inquiry report also accused her of tarnishing the image of the police department. She was asked for clarification.

“By marrying a person with criminal antecedents, she had given the force a bad name,” Sitamarhi SP told The Telegraph.

When she failed to provide a reply that would convince her seniors, the police department decided to fire her from service.
