Karnataka: A traumatic incident happened in Karnataka’s Bandipur Tiger Reserve after a Kerala tourist had a close shave while being attacked by a wild elephant. The elephant charged and pushed the man to the ground and pinned his leg under its foot, but the man survived miraculously with injuries. The horrifying moment has been recorded on camera and has gone viral. In the video the elephant is seen standing on a main road when it suddenly charged at the tourist walking along the roadside.

Reportedly, the tourist was attempting to take a selfie or get closer to the elephant, whereupon the elephant attacked. Thankfully, the elephant pulled back after standing on the man, and he managed to escape with severe injuries. He was taken away to the hospital for treatment, and officials are still trying to determine his identity.

There have been various roadkill and animal accident incidents in the Bandipur Tiger Reserve. In December 2022, a speeding truck hit and killed a female elephant within the reserve, and the driver had been arrested for breaking the night travel prohibition.
