In a video that has gone viral on social media, a cat was seen climbing onto a Sheikh’s shoulder Cat climbs on Sheikh’s shoulder during Ramadan prayers. Sheikh Walid Mehsas, who was leading the prayer service in a mosque, did not stop the prayer after the surprise jump by the feline, and his gesture is winning hearts online.

Shared on the official Facebook page of Sheikh Walid Mehsas, the clip shows the cat suddenly jumping onto the Imam, who appears unbothered by its presence. In fact, he pets the animal gently and lets it claw its way up his shoulder. While this incident took place, the priest continued the ‘Taraweeh’ prayers without hesitation.

It seems as if the cat is affectionate towards the Sheikh, which is why the animal was comfortable around him and even rubs his face on the leader’s- a sign of affection from a famously aloof species.

According to the reports, the viral video was filmed at Abu Bakr al-Siddiq mosque in the Bordj Bou Arreridj province of Algeria.

So far, the original clip has been 729K views and 49k likes. Netizens loved the post and donned the comment section with tons of remarks. Apart from that, the video has been re-posted, shared and watched millions of times on different social media platforms.
