Marriage is a beginning of a new life, and people try their best to make the auspicious day as memorable as they can. In India especially, it is a celebration of once in a lifetime, a belief that two souls are tying in a bond of foreverness.
In recent events, a video of a couple has gone viral after the bride angrily slapped the groom because he was chewing tobacco during their wedding ceremony. The video was shared by an Instagram user named Niranjan Mahapatra.
In the video, the bride and groom can be seen sitting side to side as the wedding rituals were about to start. At first, the bride starts a conversation with a guest sitting near her. Later, she slapped the groom and ordered him to throw the tobacco that he was chewing on.
The bride seems to despise actions such as chewing of paan, gutkha etc as she can be heard saying, “sanghat se aadmi bigdichi” which can be roughly translated to wrong habits spoils a human being. After the conflict, the man was compelled to get up and spit out the tobacco from his mouth. To avoid getting spat on, the wedding guests can be seen making way for him to spit.
The video is surfacing on all social media platforms and has been gaining a lot of attention as netizens are not only surprised but also praising the act pulled by the bride.
Niranjan’s post has garnered more than 6k views and thousands of comments in just a few days of being uploaded. Some people appreciated the bride’s action and commented, “Dulhan kafi samjhdar he real indian girl aise hi hoti he” (Bride is so smart, this is how real Indian girls are) and “Good job sister.” And many took it to be funny and posted sarcastic comments like, “Ajay devgen ka fan ha bhai” and “Bol juban kesri.”
