Bizzare! Villagers climb well without rope to satisfy their need for water; Watch video

There are places in India that still have to ration water due to the drought that comes as the onset of summer. However, people of Ghusiya village in Madhya Pradesh, are risking their lives for the life-source.

In a video posted in Twitter by news agency ANI, residents of this village can be seen not only walking long distances but also climbing a huge well without a rope to fill their desperate need of water.

As the clip plays further, a woman clad in a saree can be seen scaling on the wall of the well without any support by a rope or harness. A second girl in a yellow kurta is also seen inside the well and climbing out.

Moreover, the bottom of the wall did not consist more than just puddles of untidy water. But, the villagers crouch over the little water that remains. They scoop it up with small bowls and try to fill their buckets suspended by rope.

The village located in Dindori district which is a predominantly tribal district, have decided to boycott Gram Panchayat elections due to their anger over the severe water crisis. The issue water scarcity has been going on in the village for several years they said, and they will only allow political governs at their village after tap drinking water is connected to every household in the area.

Speaking to ANI, locals expressed their disappointment with political leaders. According to villagers, the administration has been paying no heed to our crisis and government employees and political leaders only come during elections. Therefore, this time they have decided to ditch the elections until they have a proper water supply. “Our only demand is water supply from the government,” said a villager.
