Assam: An Assam’s Nalbari district man, Manik Ali, went viral for bathing in 40 litres of milk to celebrate his divorce. Ali, who had recently issued a divorce decree from his wife, alleged that she had eloped twice with her lover and had an extramarital affair, leaving her family several times. Even after attempting at reconciliation for the sake of their daughter, Ali finally applied for divorce.
In a widely viewed social media video, Ali pours buckets of milk on his body, grinning from ear to ear. “I am free from today,” he declares, addressing the camera directly. As reported, Ali’s attorney informed him that the divorce has been finalized, and Ali celebrated his newfound freedom by doing so in this strange manner.
Ali said he had endured his wife’s behavior for the sake of maintaining peace in their family, but at some point, he couldn’t endure it anymore. “She kept running away with her lover. I remained quiet for the sake of peace in our family,” he stated. The clip has received a combination of opinions from people online, as some have found it funny and others criticizing Ali’s method of celebrating.
This is not the first time a person has hosted a party for their divorce. Last year, a Haryana man hosted a big divorce bash, featuring cakes and a mannequin purportedly symbolizing his ex-wife. The bash went viral and ignited an angry social media debate, with people wondering why the man had done it and what kind of party it was.
