Youth kills elder brother by slitting throat over land dispute in Odisha’s Ganjam

Berhampur: In a shocking incident a youth allegedly killed his elder brother by slitting his throat over land dispute in Ganjam district of Odisha on Wednesday. The incident took place in the Samei Guda village under Aska police station limits in the district.

The deceased elder brother has been identified as 55-year-old Raju Patra and the accused younger brother has been identified as Bhabini Patra.

According to information, there was a fight between the two brothers due to land acquisition dispute.

Today they both went to the paddy field to work. There a verbal spat erupted between them over the land dispute. The spat soon took an ugly turn and they got engaged in physical fight.

At the end, the younger brother, Bhavini Patra, became more aggressive and allegedly killed the elder brother by cutting his throat.

After getting information about the crime, Police rushed to the spot and initiated investigation. Police seized the body and sent for post-mortem.

The younger brother has been detained by Police. He is being interrogated while further probe of the case is underway.
