Khurda: In the shocking incident of a youth hacked to death in Khurda district of Odisha, as many as three have been arrested. The youth was allegedly hacked to death in Mukundaprasad area of Khurda, on August 25. The arrested youths allegedly belong to Puri and Khurda areas.
It was reported that Sheik Sajid was brutally attacked with a sword after a few miscreants allegedly broke into his garage forcibly. It was alleged that some youths attacked him with swords.
Later, he was shifted to Khurda Hospital, he was bleeding badly. The doctor allegedly declared Sheik Sajid dead on arrival. There are reports that the murder is centered around previous enmity.
Tension was experienced at the scene of the crime. The district police had imposed prohibitory order under section 163 of Bharatiya Nagarika Surakhaya Sanhita (BNSS) in some wards under the Town Police station limits in Khurda following the murder of a youth.
According to reports, irate locals damaged over 20 vehicles forcing the district administration to deploy security forces. The situation was such that Director General of Police (DGP) YB Khurania and Director Intelligence Soumendra Priyadarshi reached the spot and took stock of the situation. The DGP appealed the people not to take the law into hands and advised them to maintain peace in the area.
