Puri: A youth has been attacked in Puri district of Odisha said reports on Thursday, the youth was critical and has been hospitalized. Regular incidents like this is being reported in Puri since sometime now.
According to reports, the young man was stabbed in Puri near the Hospital road late last night. The youth identified as Deepak Mallik is in a critical condition and has been admitted to the hospital. He is said to be a resident of Khandapada area in Puri.
He has been admitted to the Puri District Headquarter Hospital (DHH) for treatment in a critical condition. He was allegedly a driver of electric auto rikshaw operated by the Srimandir administration.
According to information, on Wednesday night when he was coming to Hospital street Narendra of Puri-Brahmagiri road, when as many as four to five youths came and beat him up. Deepak’s condition became serious.
When the family members admitted him to the hospital after getting the news, those youths who stabbed him in the hospital street, fled from the scene. However, the actual reason for the stabbing is not known yet. The police has been informed regarding the incident and a detailed investigation is underway in this regard.
