Bhubaneswar: The regional India Meteorological Department (IMD) here today issued Yellow warning for cold wave conditions in Odisha for 3 days.
According to the weather department, cold wave condition will occur in different parts of the State from January 28 to January 31.
DAY 1: Valid from 8.30 AM of 28.01.2022 up to 8.30 AM of 29.01.2022
- Cold wave condition very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Sonepur, Balangir and Bargarh.
DAY 2: Valid from 8.30 AM of 29.01.2022 up to 8.30 AM of 30.01.2022
- Cold wave conditions very likely to occur at one or two pi-aces over the districts of Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Sonepur, Balangir, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Kalahandi and Bargarh.
DAY 3: Valid from 8.30 AM of 30.01.2022 up to 8.30 AM of 31.01.2022
- Cold wave condition very likely to occur at one or ti/vo places over the districts of Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Sonepur, Balangir, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Kalahandi and Bargarh.
Meanwhile, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has issued the following advisory:
- There is an increased likelihood of cold-related illnesses among people, which may get aggravated due to prolonged exposure to cold. Livestock may also be affected due to prolonged exposure to cold.
- People, in the districts under yellow warning and also in other areas where intense cold is felt, are advised to stay indoors during the night and avoid exposure to cold.
- Movement during the night especially in two-wheelers or in open cars must be avoided.
- Necessary safety measures are to be taken while using electrical and gas heating devices or using ” fire for the said purpose.
