Weather Update: Well marked low pressure formed; Likely to concentrate into cyclonic storm by May 16

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday informed that the low pressure area formed over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Andaman Sea has become well marked. Currently it lies over southeast Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood with associated cyclonic circulation extending upto mid-tropospheric levels.

The weather department said that the associated cyclonic circulation likely to concentrate into a depression on May 15 and likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm on the following day.

The IMD, in a release today said that the cyclonic circulation is likely to move northwestwards initially till May 17 and then re-curve north-northeast wards towards North Bay of Bengal during May 18 and 19.

The weatherman, however, said that there is no weather warning for Odisha till Sunday.
